Spiral Living Center’s 20th Annual Community Seed Swap | March 21

Spiral Living Center invites the community to the 20th Annual Community Seed Swap at Jubilee Park — a free, family-friendly gathering celebrating two decades of local seed sharing in the Illinois Valley.
For twenty years, this event has brought together farmers, gardeners, seed savers, herbalists, and neighbors to exchange locally adapted seeds and practical growing knowledge. What began as a modest seed exchange has evolved into a seasonal tradition rooted in generosity, food security, and community resilience.
Participants are encouraged to bring heirloom, locally adapted, and non-GMO seeds to share. Starts, plant divisions, and cuttings are also welcome. Whether you have seeds to contribute or simply want to learn, the Seed Swap is open to everyone.
In addition to the traditional seed exchange, this year’s gathering will feature:
- Seed Swap Bingo to encourage interactive booth visits
• 10–15 minute Skill Flash Sessions led by local growers
• A “Seeds with a Story” table honoring valley growing history
• Opportunities to connect with local farms, nonprofits, and garden educators
The event is designed to be welcoming and accessible to growers of all experience levels — from longtime seed keepers to first-time gardeners.
As Spiral Living Center marks 20 years of seed sharing, we honor the growers who have sustained this tradition and invite the next generation to step into the garden.
The Seed Swap is free and open to the public.
Join us in celebrating what grows well here — in our soil, in our climate, and in our community.
