Who We Are
Spiral Living Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served the Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon since 2006. Our mission is to promote sustainable living skills by offering resources for our community to become more self-sufficient. Over the last 15 years, we have started and developed a wide spectrum of community-reliance programs, which included the birth of our local Illinois Valley radio station, KXCJ-LP 105.7fm, which is now it’s own 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2021.
We currently manage the IV Gleaning Project, Earth Scouts!, IV Bikespace, and our on-site Book + Tool Libraries at Frog Farm. Every year, we organize and execute hands-on workshops that focus on permaculture skills, ancestral skills, homesteading, food preservation, alternative energy, natural building, and more. Perhaps you’ve attended our: Seed Swap and Scion Exchange, Women’s Spa Day, Frog Farm Skillshare Gathering, Fix-It Fair, Fermentation Festival, or Local Foods Dinner. We deeply value our in-person events to connect, share, and uplift one another. Spiral Living Center is managed by a wonderful and devoted Board of Directors, SLC Staff, and Stewardship Committee who have many insights and talents to share. We are funded through recurring memberships, one-time donations, and generous grants from:
We appreciate and value the financial donors who help make our work possible and accessible. We are always looking for local volunteers who would like to donate their time to one or more of our programs or events.
